2024 People of Post Grant

PPCG are excited to announce that we are an Australia Post ‘2024 People of Post’ Grant recipient.

The PPCG started revegetation work over 25 years ago and in that time has planted many thousands of trees in BCC parks and reserves. However, to date there has been no systematic measurement and analysis of how large the trees have become, the approximate amount of timber in these trees and so how much carbon dioxide has been removed from the atmosphere. Australia Post has provided a grant of $1,350 to the PPCG to buy the measuring equipment that will enable the dimensions of these trees, or a representative sample thereof, to be determined and thence the carbon storage to be reasonably well measured. The results of this will be reported over the coming year.
